DID numbers in the inventory are assigned a status to indicate their current availability and state. A DID number can have one of the following statuses:
- In use indicates that the DID is already being used by an account.
- Not in use shows that the DID is available for provisioning to direct customers or resellers’ customers.
- Not in use since today and Free for N days track how long a DID has been available.
- Reserved shows that the DID is assigned to a specific customer but not yet in use.
- Frozen is the default one for newly uploaded DIDs, it shows that the DID is available for provisioning to direct customers only.
Frozen DIDs and DID pool
You might not want to share some of the DID numbers acquired from a DID provider with your resellers – for example, if you want to reserve some numbers for direct customers.
In order to keep the DIDs unavailable for resellers’ usage, they are uploaded to the DID inventory with the Frozen status. When frozen, DIDs are displayed on the administrator’s DID inventory page only.
To allow resellers to provision DID numbers, the administrator simply releases them to the pool of available DIDs.
The DID pool is the tool that allows you to control the DID numbers that will be provisioned by your resellers. It contains the numbers that are:
- not frozen;
- not assigned to pricing batches; and
- not used as an account ID, an account alias, or an access number.
