PortaBilling provides built-in tools for importing rates into vendor, reseller, and customer tariffs and exporting rates as price lists to share with customers or partners.

Rate upload is used to define and update tariff rates by importing rates from a .csv, .xlsx, or .xls file. During the upload process, PortaBilling parses the file structure, maps rate parameters to file columns, and saves the rate data in the tariff according to the selected upload settings.

Rate download is used to export rates from a tariff into a .csv, .xlsx, or .xls file to provide it to a customer or reseller. You can choose to export only rates effective on a specific date.

Origin-based rates, where pricing for a destination depends on call origination, can be uploaded into tariffs and downloaded in the same way as standard rates.

Both upload and download operations use templates:

  • A rate upload template is automatically created during the upload process by default. It saves settings from each step of the rate upload process and can be reused for correct imports of future price changes.
  • A rate download template defines the structure of the output file, including the columns to export, their order, and data format. You can use built-in templates or custom ones (create a custom template before downloading rates).
