In some markets, resellers operate under their own brand and sell ready-made service packages prepared by the service provider, without setting or modifying the pricing.
For this purpose, the service provider’s admin can mark entities, such as products, as Shared with resellers. Shared entities become visible to all resellers on the reseller portal and available for use when onboarding their subcustomers. Resellers cannot modify these entities.
The following entities can be shared:
Owl Telecom is a service provider that sells cloud PBX and SIP trunking services.
BusyBee is an internet provider with an established customer base. To offer telephony alongside internet connectivity, BusyBee contacts Owl Telecom and signs up as a reseller. Owl Telecom prepares a set of ready-made products, such as packages for cloud PBX extensions and auto-attendants, and marks them as shared with resellers. The BusyBee admin logs in to the reseller portal and can view the products available for sale.
TechBox is an IT equipment supplier that also signs up as a reseller with Owl Telecom to offer voice services alongside their equipment. Since the products are already marked as shared, the TechBox admin can view them right away in the reseller portal – no additional configuration is needed on Owl Telecom's side. When onboarding a new customer, the TechBox admin creates a customer with accounts and assigns appropriate products.
