PortaBilling supports integration with Africa’s leading mobile operator, MTN, enabling service providers to deliver VoLTE (Voice over LTE) and VoWiFi (Voice over Wi-Fi) services to residential and business customers.
The connectivity between the MTN’s network in the Republic of South Africa and PortaBilling is established via the Diameter (Ro) interface and enables user authentication, session authorization, and accounting. It supports charging for outgoing VoLTE and VoWiFi calls.

To configure the connectivity between MTN’s network and PortaBilling, create MTN’s IMS as a node, and fill in the details:
- Node ID – specify the “host” value identifying the MTN’s IMS (on the MNO’s side, it’s specified in the Origin-Host AVP, e.g., ims.company.com).
- Manufacturer – select “PortaOne”
- Type – select “Generic”
- IP – specify the IP address of the MNO’s equipment. Since the node will be identified solely by the Node ID, the IP address is used solely for information purposes
- Leave the Enable communication with billing toggle disabled.
