About PortaDialer

PortaDialer is a white-label softphone for communication service providers. It allows you to add a calling application to your cloud PBX or SIP trunking services without having to build and maintain one yourself. PortaDialer includes mobile applications for iOS and Android, as well as a web application, all of which you can brand with your company name, logo, and colors. The web application is also available as a compact, embeddable widget that you can add to your own portal or a third-party system that supports custom JavaScript embedding.

You can use PortaDialer with your existing SIP platform.

EXAMPLE

Let’s consider Owl Telecom, a VoIP provider that sells SIP trunking and phone numbers to business customers. One of its new customers is a company whose sales team uses a CRM to manage leads and customer relationships and a separate mobile softphone app for business calls.

Owl Telecom prepares a branded version of PortaDialer (including its web and mobile applications), builds a CRM click-to-call integration for it, and sells it together with its SIP trunking service.

The customer can quickly get its team started with the branded PortaDialer web application without installing software on every computer. Sales agents simply open the web application in their browser and log in, whether they use Windows, Mac, or Linux. They can make and receive calls directly from their web application and click-to-call from customer records in the CRM they already use.

Sales agents who also need to stay connected while away from their computers can install the PortaDialer mobile app on their iOS or Android devices. When an agent needs to leave their computer during a call, they can pull the active call to the mobile app and continue the conversation there.

Now, Owl Telecom isn’t just routing calls in the background: it offers a tool that the customer’s team relies on in their daily work, providing greater value to the customer and making Owl Telecom less likely to be replaced.

The PortaDialer mobile application is available for both Android and iOS devices. Customers download your application from the App Store or Google Play, then sign in with a one-time passcode (OTP) or a password. Once the app is installed, users can be onboarded with a one-tap sign-in link (or QR code) sent by email: opening the link launches the installed PortaDialer app and signs the user in automatically, with no credentials to type.

How it works

PortaDialer connects to your existing SIP platform via an API adapter (adapters are currently available for PortaSwitch, 3CX, Broadsoft, Asterisk, and FreePBX; custom adapters can also be developed for other platforms). User accounts and company phone books can be retrieved from the platform where they are already managed. A separate PortaDialer web interface is available for monitoring the PortaDialer service and reviewing logs.

Both the PortaDialer web and mobile applications use WebRTC technology for real-time voice and video communication. The PortaDialer backend converts WebRTC to SIP, so no additional infrastructure is required.

To use PortaDialer, you need a SIP platform and a PortaDialer subscription.

The standard PortaDialer offer is deployed in the cloud and comes ready to use. It supports up to 100 seats and 10 concurrent calls (across all seats).

An on-premises deployment is also available for service providers with specific infrastructure or regulatory requirements. If you prefer to deploy PortaDialer on-premises, request a quote from PortaOne Sales.
