PortaPhone

PortaPhone is a solution that consists of two applications – the PortaPhone mobile application, the PortaPhone web application, and the PortaPhone web widget.

After you subscribe to the PortaPhone module in Add-on Mart, your customers are able to make/receive calls via the web and mobile applications.

You can brand the PortaPhone web and mobile applications, including a custom name, logo, and color scheme. You can also embed your own web pages into the application to show promotional banners, additional information from other systems (e.g., CRM), etc.

The PortaPhone mobile application is available for both Android and iOS devices. With the PortaPhone application, users can make both on-net (to other users on the same system) and off-net calls (to external numbers, such as a mobile number).

Customers download your application (PortaPhone branded with your corporate logo and colors) from the App Store or Google Play. They sign in using their corporate phone number, which is their account ID in PortaBilling. PortaBilling then sends a verification code to the email address defined in the account's settings. Once the customer enters this code in the mobile application, sign-in is complete. From here on, customers can call their colleagues, whose numbers appear automatically in the contact list.

The PortaPhone web is a solution for making audio/video calls from a web browser on any device like a desktop computer, laptop, or tablet. PortaPhone web is supported by major browsers such as Google Chrome and Firefox.

Share the PortaPhone web link with your customers so they can start using the application. They can open it in a browser and sign in using their corporate phone number, which is their account ID in PortaBilling. PortaBilling then sends a verification code to the email address defined in the account settings. Once the customer enters this code in the PortaPhone web, sign-in is complete. From here on, customers can call their colleagues, whose numbers appear automatically in the contact list.

The PortaPhone web widget is a compact version of the PortaPhone web that you can embed directly into the portal or a third-party system using a short piece of JavaScript code. For example, you can add this code to the CloudPBX Self-Care Portal using the Embed custom JavaScript option in the module's Configuration UI.

The widget supports the same features as the PortaPhone web application, displayed in a compact window that resizes automatically to fit the host page.
