Add rate

To manually add a new rate, click Add on the Rate list panel, fill in the details, and click Save. To add more rates, click Save & Add a copy.

Select a rate code (e.g., a phone prefix like 420 or a special code like VOICEONNET). Start typing to quickly find the desired code. To clear the selected value, click Clear or manually delete the input.

If a code group set is defined for the tariff (Tariff > General configuration > General info > Code group set), you can select a specific code group from the list to apply the same price to all rate codes within that group.

Select a mobile country code with its country.

Choose Custom to select one of the special destinations in the MNC/Network field (e.g., MSG).

Select a mobile network code.

Select the off-peak period from the previously defined ones.

None means that a rate does not have an off-peak period.

Specify the first rounding interval in seconds (default is 1 second). This interval defines the minimum duration of the call that is going to be billed. For instance, if the first interval is set to 30 seconds, a call lasting between 1 and 30 seconds will be billed as a 30-second call.

Specify the first rounding interval for the off-peak period in seconds (default is 1 second).

Specify the next rounding interval in seconds (default is 1 second). This determines how the call duration beyond the initial interval is billed. For example, if the next interval is set to 1 second, any duration beyond the initial interval will be billed in 1-second increments. If you set the first interval to 30 seconds and the next interval to 1 second, and the call lasts for 36 seconds, the customer will be charged for 36 seconds.

Specify the next rounding interval for an off-peak period in seconds (default is 1 second).

Choose when the rate becomes effective:

• Immediately
• Specific time – specify the exact date

You can specify the amount that will be charged immediately upon connection.

Shows how charges for calls are calculated, including the defined connect fee.

This means that the customer is credited for using certain services, rather than paying for them (e.g., the service provider receives the termination fee for their own subscribers and wants to encourage their users to receive more calls by passing on a certain portion of these savings).

Bundles do not apply to transactions produced according to payback rates.

Select the checkbox to enable the payback status.

Select the checkbox to mark the rate as inactive.

This means that the calls for this specific destination are forbidden and won’t be authorized.

When origin-based charging is used, marking only the basic rate as Forbidden is not sufficient to block calls. If the caller’s number matches a rate code within an origination code group defined for an extra rate that is not marked as Forbidden, the call is still allowed. To ensure calls are rejected, mark both the basic rate and the origin-based extra rates as Forbidden.

Select the checkbox to enable the forbidden status.

Group rates into categories such as “Premium,” “Cheap,” etc. Use these categories in routing plans (a combination of route categories in a specific order).

Select the Default route category to not assign the rate to any custom route category.

Group rates for calls made during off-peak periods into categories such as “Off-peak premium,” “Off-peak cheap,” etc. Use these categories in routing plans (a combination of route categories in a specific order).

Select the Default route category if you do not want to assign the rate to any custom off-peak route category.

For rates in vendor tariffs, specify the routing priority (0–10). Higher values indicate higher priority, and these rates appear first in the routing list. A value of 0 means “do not use this rate for routing.” The default is 5.

This shows that all routes with a lower route category or preference will be ignored.

Rounding is set in base units. The amount of consumed base units is then rounded up to the nearest multiple of this number. For example, if rounding is set to 1024 KB and a user consumes 1025 KB (the total sent to PortaBilling in periodical credit-control requests during the Internet session), it is rounded up to 2048 KB (which is 2 MB in billing units).

Specify the price per billing unit, e.g., message or MB.
