Product group

Assigning products to specific product groups helps organize them, making it easier for customers to find and select the products they need.

Product groups serve the following purposes:

  • Custom grouping for end users on the built-in account self-care interface that comes with PortaBilling/PortaSwitch. This allows users to easily locate add-ons available for self-sign-up within their respective groups.
  • Relevant product display on the CloudPBX Self-Care Portal. When customers create accounts of specific types, product groups ensure that only relevant products are shown. For example, when adding a new extension, customers will only see products intended for extensions, and they won’t accidentally choose a product for an auto-attendant or a fax mailbox.

Available Options:

  • Select a product group – assign the add-on product to an existing product group.
  • None – exclude the product from any product group.
  • Add new – create a new product group. In the "Add product group" dialog, enter a group name and click "OK."

Allow self-care sign-up

This option is only available for add-on products. Enable it to allow end users to sign up for the add-on product themselves via an account self-care interface.

To enable the self-activation of main or add-on products by a customer through a customer self-care interface (e.g., the CloudPBX Self-Care Portal or the IoT and M2M Portal available through the Add-on Mart), configure the customer agreement.
