Basic info

On the Basic info tab, you can view or edit the personal information about this distributor: contact information, addresses, commissions, sales agents, and custom fields.

Here you can define personal information about the distributor such as name, email address, and contact (the person to contact instead of or in addition to the distributor).

By default, PortaBilling automatically adds the distributor’s first name to the Contact field.

In the Address section, you define the distributor address: street address, city, country, postal code, phone number, etc.

Here you can view and edit the distributor’s commissions.

This is the percentage that a distributor receives from each sale. A sales commission is applied when a distributor creates/activates a debit account or when you assign a distributor to an existing active debit account.

PortaBilling calculates the sales commission amount from the account’s opening balance.

If the account’s opening balance is $10 and the sales commission is 15%, the sales commission amount is $1.50.

This is the percentage that a distributor receives when they collect cash from customers and enter it as a payment in PortaBilling. PortaBilling calculates the amount of payment commission from the payment amount.

If a distributor receives a $10 cash payment and the payment commission is 10%, the amount of payment commission is $1. The distributor delivers $9 to you: the amount of payment minus commission.

Here you can view the distributor’s sales agents and reassign them if needed.

A representative is a person who brings a distributor into your sales chain. Representatives work on behalf of the company, selling services for a commission. After you identify a representative for a distributor, they start to receive a commission according to the commission plan you defined for them.

Representatives don’t participate in billing or revenue sharing. They are listed for information purposes only.

In this section, you can specify additional information about a distributor (e.g., a driver's license). You see here the custom fields that you assigned to the customer class. The custom fields are not visible to the end users.
