Dialing rules define how the customer dials phone numbers and convert those dialed numbers into the standard E.164 format.

Turn on the toggle switch to use dialing rules for this customer.

Dialing rule

Choose which dialing rule to use for this customer. Type the dialing rule name to narrow the search.

To create a new dialing rule for the customer, click Create a dialing rule option. This opens a new window where you can configure the customer's individual dialing rule.

Outgoing calls

Select the Apply the rule to CLI (in addition to CLD) checkbox to enable the translation of the CLI number from the local format to E.164 in outgoing calls based on the selected dialing rule.

If this option is enabled together with the Always dial the area code as a part of the number option, the called party will see the 'DIALERROR' instead of the calling party’s number (CLI), if CLI includes neither the area code for local calls nor the prefix for domestic long-distance calls. To prevent this, you can either disable one of these options or modify the dialing rule for the customer.

Incoming calls

Select the Apply the rule to CLI checkbox to enable the translation of the CLI number from E.164 to the local format in incoming calls based on the selected dialing rule.

Select the Apply the rule to CLD checkbox to enable the translation of the CLD number from E.164 to the local format in incoming calls based on the selected dialing rule.
