Use this panel to configure global settings for the voicemail and auto-attendant applications, such as selecting the language(s) available for voice prompts.
This panel includes options that:
-
- Apply only globally, so all the voice application instances inherit these settings (e.g., "Silence detection").
- Apply globally, but can be overridden for specific application instances (e.g., "Custom prompts directory") with a specified entry point. If a user accesses the personal voice mailbox through a designated entry point, such as *98, the specific application's configuration takes effect. If the entry point is not set for the voice mailbox or the user dials their extension to reach their mailbox, the global configuration applies.
Confirm input by pressing the pound key (#)
Enable this option for the voicemail/auto attendant applications to require users to press the pound key (#) to confirm their input.
This setting can be overridden for a specific voice application.
Default input timeout, sec
Specify how long (in seconds) the system waits for user input before proceeding to the next action.
This setting can be overridden for specific application instances.
Minimum duration, sec
Set the required minimum length (in seconds) for a voicemail message to be saved. For example, use this option to ensure that saved messages are long enough to evaluate their sound quality. If set to 0, all messages are saved regardless of length.
This option always applies globally.
Maximum duration, sec
Set the maximum length of a voicemail message (in seconds). Once this limit is reached, the IVR application stops recording and immediately plays back the message.
Silence detection
Turn on this toggle to detect silence during voicemail recording.
This option always applies globally.
Cancel voicemail recording after silence for, sec
Set the number of seconds of silence before the voicemail recording is automatically stopped. This configuration applies if Silence detection is enabled.
Custom prompts directory
Specify the directory where the custom prompt files are located. If no folder is set, the system will use the default files. For example, if you put customized English prompts under the directory:
/porta_var/psmsc/customfiles/prompts/brands/my_company/en,
specify “my_company” in this field.
This setting can be overridden for a specific voice application.
Languages
Set the list of the languages to be used for voice prompts.
Click Select languages to open the language selection dialog box and define languages in a specific order. Upon reaching a voice application, a user can choose one of these languages.
This setting can be overridden for a specific voice application.
