The language of the Voicemail and Auto Attendant prompts depends on the end user’s preferred IVR language.
When a call to Voicemail or Auto Attendant arrives, the Media server first checks the caller’s Preferred IVR Language. If the caller is unknown (e.g., a call comes from PSTN or a mobile number), the Media server checks the Preferred IVR Language of the called account. If the language is defined and supported, the Media server uses the language of the called account to play the prompts.
If the caller is a PortaSwitch account and the account’s Preferred IVR Language is defined and supported, the Media server uses that preferred language to play the prompts.
If the preferred IVR Language is not explicitly defined for a caller/callee, the Media server uses its default IVR language.

Supported currency
By default, if an account’s currency is not supported by the account’s preferred IVR language, then the IVR uses the default currency for this language to announce the account balance.
For example, let’s say that John Doe lives in London and is charged in British pounds (GBP). His preferred IVR language is English. When John wants to check his balance he dials the IVR access number (e.g., 4545), and hears, “You have 32 pounds and 79 pence.”
If, for some reason John changes his preferred IVR language to Portuguese (which does not support GBP), his balance will be announced in EUR, which is the default currency for Portuguese, i.e. “You have 32 euros and 79 cents” in Portuguese.
