Charging customers that use Teams

Link copied to clipboard

You can offer your customers rates for calls to mobile numbers and landlines that are more affordable compared to the Microsoft calling plan. Your customers just need to purchase a Microsoft Office 365 subscription that includes a phone system option, and their calls will be charged according to your calling plan.

Also, it’s possible to limit the number of Teams users (“seats”) that a customer can activate and charge your customers for activating extra users.

For example, you can charge your customers:

  • Subscription fee:
    • A fixed price per customer with the maximum allowed number of ”seats”. Say you limit the maximum number of “seats” per customer to 10 and assign a subscription such as “$30 for up to 10 Teams users” directly to the customer in PortaBilling.
    • Or per “seat”. Say you create a subscription such as “$5 per Teams user” and assign this subscription to each account (extension) that is connected to Teams.
The Teams users are activated (get connected with a specific account in PortaBilling or assigned to a “trunk”) on the TeamMate side, and at the moment, PortaBilling doesn’t know how many active Teams users a customer has. To get this information, you can use a report on the TeamMate Connector portal (Reseller) that shows the number of active Teams users per customer.
  • For calls to mobile numbers or landlines according to your pay-as-you-go rates
  • For DID numbers
  • For add-ons with cloud PBX features such as voicemail, conferencing, call recording, etc.
