To enable routing of 911 calls to Bandwidth, configure it at the product level:

  1. Open the product record in PortaBilling.
  2. Navigate to Services > Voice calls > Outgoing calls, and enable the Emergency service feature.
  3. Select Bandwidth in the Module field.
  4. Save the product.

Enable the Emergency service on a product

When you save the product, PortaSwitch schedules a background task to provision existing addresses to Bandwidth for all accounts using this product. By default, provisioning starts 60 minutes after saving, allowing you to reverse this change if it was enabled by mistake. To start provisioning sooner, you can reduce this delay via the E911.ProviderChangeDelay option in the Configuration server web interface.

Set up the delay

Emergency locations can be entered by the service provider’s admin or by the customer through the self-care portal. An address must include: Country, State/Province, City, Address line, and ZIP/Postal code.
