Once your free trial/paid subscription is activated, you can set up your branded Mobile Account Self-Care App:

Preparation steps

Before proceeding with the module configuration and deployment, perform the following steps:

If you have a sign-up portal for end users, you will be able to add its URL, e.g., http://signup.mobileapp.company.com, to the app’s start page.

Step 1: Configure domain

You need to configure a domain (e.g., mobileapp.company.com) that will be used as a URL your subscribers open in their browsers to reset their passwords. If you have the Mobile account self-care portal deployed, then you can use its domain name.

Step 2: Prepare a logo and a favicon

For your branded app, prepare a logo that will appear on the app login page and an application icon in the format specified below.

The format of the logo:

  • .svg, .png, or .jpg
  • width 250 pixels
  • max file size: 3 MB

It is crucial that the logo has a transparent background. LogoCorrect

A logo with non-transparent background is not suitable and may result in an incorrect appearance.

The format of the application icon:

  • .png or .jpg
  • 512×512 pixels
  • max file size: 1 MB

Module configuration and deployment

Once the module is activated and the preparation steps are performed, you can customize and deploy your branded Mobile Account Self-Care App.

On the My modules page, click Configure.

On the Configuration UI page that opens, fill in the details and click Deploy (or Save for later to deploy it later).

The Configuration UI includes the following blocks:

Upload your logo, application icon, and choose a color to brand your Mobile Account Self-Care App. Your portal branding

  • Company logo – upload your logo that will be shown in the app. This is where the logo will be displayed in the app.
  • Application icon – upload an image that will be used as an application icon for the app.
  • Unique application ID (mandatory) – define the unique ID of your application that will be used for publishing on the market, e.g., com.yourcompany.selfcare.
  • Custom color – you can change the default color of the app’s navigation panel. Specify the needed color code or select a color in the dropdown menu.

Choose domain configuration

Specify the domains configured at preparation step 1. Choose domain configuration

  • Portal domain (mandatory) – specify the domain name used by the app, e.g., mobileapp.company.com, configured at preparation step 1.
  • Sign-up portal URL – if you have the sign-up portal, specify its URL, e.g., signup.mobileapp.company.com.

PortaSwitch connection configuration

Fill in the parameters that are needed to connect the app to PortaSwitch. PortaSwitch connection configuration

  • Account realm API URL (mandatory) – specify the URL of the PortaSwitch account self-care interface: https://your_company.com:port. By default, the account realm port is 8445 (you can check the actual port on the Configuration server web interface in the VirtualHostsAccount.server_port option). For example, the URL can be https://telecom.com:8445.
  • Maintenance Release of the PortaSwitch – specify the PortaSwitch MR version you are currently running.

Deployment

To deploy your Mobile Account Self-Care App, click Deploy. Your request will be sent to the PortaOne support team, who will schedule the next steps for publishing it on Google Play or the App Store.

To save the configuration and deploy it later, click Save for later.
